This policy explains what personal data Soul's Compass collects, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

1. What data we collect

We collect personal data in two ways:

Free insight subscription form. When you request a free insight, we collect your first name and email address. This is used solely to send you the insight and, with your consent, occasional emails about Soul's Compass.

Purchase via Gumroad. When you purchase Soul's Compass through our Gumroad store, payment and order data is collected and processed by Gumroad Inc. We receive only your email address in order to fulfil your order. We do not handle or store your payment card details at any point.

2. How we use your data

We use your personal data only for the purposes for which it was collected:

To send you the free insight you requested
To send occasional emails about Soul's Compass, where you have consented to receive them
To fulfil your digital download purchase
To respond to enquiries sent to guide@soulscompass.uk

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making. We do not sell your data to third parties.

3. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate Soul's Compass:

Kit (formerly ConvertKit) — email delivery and list management. Your name and email address are stored on Kit's servers. Kit is GDPR-compliant. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
Gumroad Inc. — payment processing and digital product delivery. Gumroad processes your purchase data under their own privacy policy, available at gumroad.com.
Netlify — website hosting. Netlify may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, page visits) for operational purposes.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases under UK GDPR:

Consent — for email subscriptions. You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing.
Contract — to fulfil your purchase and deliver your digital download.
Legitimate interests — to respond to direct enquiries sent to our email address.

5. How long we keep your data

We retain your email address and name on our mailing list for as long as you remain subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time and your data will be removed from our list.

Purchase records held by Gumroad are subject to Gumroad's own retention policy.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Withdraw consent for email communications at any time
Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk

7. Cookies

This website does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. Standard server logs may be retained by Netlify for operational and security purposes.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page with a revised date at the top. Continued use of the website after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
